Welcome back to Robotics Roundup, a monthly list of the robotics industry’s most important VC deals. June was a huge month for the robotics industry, logging more investments than any month since we started Robotics Roundup 18 months ago. We also had two public listings and a big acquisition. But first, let’s dive headlong into those deals:
The Deals
Anduril raised $2.5B in Series G funding, led by Founders Fund and with participation from General Catalyst, Andreessen Horowitz, Valor Equity Partners, BlackRock, and Lightspeed Venture Partners. The Costa Mesa, California-based company builds AI-powered defense systems for the U.S. and allied militaries.
Helsing raised €600M in Series D funding led by Prima Materia with participation from BDT & MSD Partners, Lightspeed Ventures, Accel, Plural, General Catalyst, and SAAB. The Munich-based defense tech company develops drones, AI, and sensor software for NATO-aligned countries.
Applied Intuition raised $600M in Series F funding co-led by BlackRock and Kleiner Perkins. The Silicon Valley company makes simulation and software platforms for AV development.
ForSight Robotics raised a $125M Series B led by Eclipse. The Israeli company is building robots for precise eye surgery procedures.
Gecko Robotics raised $125M in Series D funding led by Cox Enterprises with participation from USIT, XN, Founders Fund, and Y Combinator. The Pittsburgh company makes robots that can climb, fly, and swim to inspect infrastructure.
Raphe mPhibr raised $100M in Series B funding led by General Catalyst. The New Delhi company designs and manufactures autonomous drones for defense use cases.
Coco Robotics raised $80M in funding led by Offline, DeepWater, and Ryan Graves, with participation from existing investors including Sam and Max Altman, Pelion, Outlander, and SNR. The Los Angeles-based company develops small autonomous robots for last-mile delivery.
Tacta Systems raised $64M in Series A funding led by America’s Frontier Fund and SBVA. The Silicon Valley company’s “dextrous intelligence” technology seeks to give robotic systems a “smart nervous system.”
Aerones raised $62M in funding co-led by Activate Capital and S2G Investments with participation from Carbon Equity and Overlap Holdings. The Riga, Latvia-based company builds robots that can inspect and maintain wind turbines.
AIM raised $50M in funding from Khosla Ventures, General Catalyst, Human Capital, Ironspring Ventures, Mantis, DCVC, and others. The Monroe, Washington-based company retrofits earthmoving construction machinery to operate autonomously.
Sojo Industries raised $40M in funding from S2G Investments. The Bristol, Pennsylvania company makes robotics, mobile manufacturing, and modular packaging solutions for the food and beverage industry.
Bedrock Ocean raised $25 million in Series A-2 funding co-led by Costanoa Ventures, Harmony Partners, and Katapult Ocean. The Bay Area company uses autonomous robots to map and monitor the ocean floor.
Shinkei Systems raised $22M in funding led by Founders Fund and Interlagos. The Los Angeles company uses robotics to automate an ancient Japanese technique called ike jime, which reduces stress on harvested fish at the moment of slaughter to prevent the build up of lactic acid and other chemicals that can spoil the flesh.
SWARM Biotactics raised €10M in Seed funding from a consortium including Vertex Ventures US, Possible Ventures, and Capnamic. The Kassel, Germany-based company develops “living, intelligent systems based on insects” for surveillance and monitoring use cases.
PrismaX raised $11M in Seed funding led by a16z’s Crypto Startup Accelerator, with participation from the Stanford blockchain accelerator Builder Fund, Symbolic, Volt Capital, Virtuals Protocol, and others. The San Francisco-based company is building foundational models to power breakthrough advances in physical generative AI.
Voliro raised an $11M extension of its Series A, led by noa. The Zurich-based company develops advanced aerial robots that perform inspection and maintenance tasks high above the ground.
Warp raised $10M in Series A funding co-led by Up.Partners and Blue Bear Capital. The Los Angeles company says its robotic systems can automate the entire freight lifecycle, from inbound receiving and dimensioning to smart sortation and outbound dispatch.
Sunrise Robotics raised $8.5M in funding led by Plural with participation from Tapestry, Seedcamp, Tiny.vc, and Prototype Capital. The Ljubljana-based company builds modular industrial manufacturing robots.
AUAR raised £5.1M in funding led by Planet A with participation from Shadow Ventures, Common Magic, and Concrete VC. The London-based company builds robotic microfactories for sustainable housing.
Lendurai raised €5.57 million in Seed funding led by Expeditions Fund, HCVC, and Vsquared Ventures. The Tallinn, Estonia-based company builds tactical autonomous UAVs for GPS-denied operations.
Unchained Robotics raised €5.5M in a Series A extension from Direttissima Growth Partners, Navivo Capital, Future Industry Ventures, vent.io, and D11Z. The Paderborn, Germany-based company has developed a standardised control system that integrates robots from various manufacturers into production environments.
TomBot raised $6.1M in Series A funding led by Caduceus Capital Partners. The Los Angeles company makes robotic emotional support dogs for seniors and individuals with cognitive or emotional health conditions, and who are unable to care for a live animal.
BlueRedGold raised €2.73M in funding led by PINC, with participation from The Food Tech Lab and PolarVentures. The Stockholm-based company is using robotic systems to cultivate saffron indoors.
Swap Robotics raised an undisclosed amount of strategic funding from Silicon Ranch. The Kitchener, Ontario company’s robotic systems perform grass mowing, panel-laying, and materials staging tasks on utility-scale solar farms.
The Big Exits
AIRO Group Holdings went public on the Nasdaq under the symbol AIRO. The Albuquerque company builds autonomous aerial systems.
Arrive AI debuted on the Nasdaq under the symbol ARAI. The Indianapolis-based company makes AI-powered smart mailboxes and logistics infrastructure for last-yard delivery.
Edge Autonomy announced its acquisition by Redwire Corporation for $925M. The San Luis Obispo, California company makes autonomous aircraft, advanced ISR optics and resilient energy solutions.
