Welcome back to Robotics Roundup, a monthly look at the most important VC deals in the robotics industry. July was another big month for the defense tech sector and underwater robots.
The Deals
Hadrian raised $260M in Series C funding led by Founders Fund and Lux Capital, and includes a factory expansion loan facility arranged by Morgan Stanley. The Los Angeles company builds automated factories to support US-based defense manufacturing.
Genesis AI emerged from stealth with $105M in Seed funding co-led by Eclipse and Khosla Ventures, with participation from BPifrance and HSG, among others. The Paris and Palo Alto-based company is developing a general-purpose foundation model for robotics.
Bedrock Robotics emerged from stealth by announcing $80M in funding across its Seed and Series A funding rounds. The San Francisco company is building autonomous construction technology.
RealSense raised $50M in funding led by “a renowned semiconductor private equity firm” as part of its spinout from Intel. The San Francisco company develops depth cameras and vision technology for use in robotics, access control, industrial automation, healthcare, and more.
Firestorm Labs raised $47M in Series A funding led by New Enterprise Associates, with participation from Lockheed Martin Ventures, Decisive Point, Washington Harbour Partners, Booz Allen Ventures, and others. The San Diego-based company is building additive manufacturing technologies to help defense customers develop modular, open-architecture drones.
XTEND raised a $30M extension to its Series B round, bringing the total to $70M. The round was co-led by Aliya Capital Partners and Protego Ventures. The Tel Aviv company makes defense and public safety drone systems.
Asylon Robotics raised $24M in Series B funding led by Insight Partners, with participation fromVeteran Ventures Capital, Allegion Ventures, and the GO PA Fund. The Philadelphia-based company builds “drone dog” security robots to patrol perimeters and provide rapid response.
THEKER Robotics raised $21M in Seed funding led by Kibo Ventures. The Barcelona-based company has built a robotic arm with built-in deep learning-based vision and control systems to adjust to new tasks in real-time.
MOTOR Ai raised $20M in Seed funding led by Segenia Capital and eCAPITAL. The Berlin company develops cognitive AI systems for autonomous driving with a focus on explainable decisions, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Remora Robotics raised 164M NOK in funding led by Hatch Blue. The Norwegian company develops underwater robots used to clean nets for fish farmers.
Filics raised €13.5M in funding from he Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund, F-LOG Ventures, Sandwater, Alven, Bayern Kapital, Capnamic, 10x Founders, and others. The Munich-based company builds autonomous pallet-moving robots for industrial warehouses.
Kongsberg Ferrotech raised €12M in funding led by the NATO Innovation Fund and Ivestinor. The Norwegian company makes underwater robots for inspection and repair of subsea infrastructure.
AssetCool raised £10M in Series A funding led by Energy Impact Partners (EIP), with backing from Extantia Capital and Taronga Group. The Leeds, UK-based company develops robotic systems and functional coatings for energy grid infrastructure.
Augmentus raised $11M in Series A+ funding led by Woori Venture Partners, with participation from EDBI, Sierra Ventures, and Cocoon Capital. The Singaporean company provides no-code automation tools for robotic welding and surface finishing.
Dash Bio raised $11 million in funding led by The Aligned Fund. The Newton, MA company is a preclinical and clinical bioanalysis company reinventing the speed and scalability of drug development.
SR Robotics raised €8.4M in funding from Vincil. The Katowice, Poland-based company develops remotely operated and autonomous underwater robots and ship hull cleaning technology.
Monumental Labs raised $8M in funding led by Seven Seven Six. The New York company is developing autonomous stone carving robots to construct buildings with stone and concrete.
Civ Robotics raised $7.5M in Series A funding led by AlleyCorp, with participation from Bobcat Company and ff Venture Capital. The San Francisco-based company develops autonomous surveying robots for construction site layout.
Raise Robotics raised $7.75M in seed funding led by MaC Venture Capital. The San Francisco company is the developer of the Raise platform, a versatile, multi-purpose robot that automates and optimizes construction tasks across trade partners.
Quadsat raised €5M Series A extension led by JOIN Capital and North Ventures, with participation from Seraphim Space, Export and Investment Fund of Denmark, Helge Munk Holding, and TPC Management. The Odense, Denmark-based company uses autonomous drones to provide intelligence and RF geolocation solutions for satcoms and defense.
TRIC Robotics raised $5M in Seed funding led by Version One Ventures. The San Luis Obispo, California-based company builds UV-light emitting robots for non-chemical pest control in agriculture.
Baxter Aerospace raised $6 Million Series A from the Department of Defense (DoD) Accelerator Fund. The Utah based company specializes in advanced manufacturing and aerospace integration.
Tencore raised $3.74M in funding from MITS Capital. The Kyiv-based company is developing an unmanned ground vehicle for military use.
Paradigm Robotics raised $3.6M led by Active Capital. They are the developer of FireBot, a rugged unmanned ground robot built for firefighting, defense, and industrial, environmental, and emergency response (IEER).
Cobionix raised $3M in funding led by TitletownTech. The Kitchener, Ontario-based company is developing autonomous robotics for medical procedures and diagnostics.
Nordic Air Defense raised $3M in pre-Seed funding led by Inflection. The Stockholm-based company builds drone defense and countermeasure systems.
The Big Exits
Geek+ went public on Hong Kong Stock Exchange, raising $281M at a $2.8B valuation. The Beijing company builds a range of warehouse robotics systems.
